How to Make Money with Online Surveys

If you are looking for an easy way to make some extra money in your spare time, there is a lot to love about taking online surveys. When you sign up for some survey panels, you can share your opinions and actually get paid for it – a win/win in the best possible sense of the term.

Companies are always looking for insights into the products they are developing, the consumers they are trying to attract, and any number of other topics. What that means to you is the chance to make a difference while earning some extra cash. You may not make enough to pay the mortgage, but you could bring in enough to pay a bill or two – or indulge in an online shopping spree. Here are a few of the best and highest-paying survey sites the web has to offer.

YouGov

You may have seen some YouGov polls in the news, and this company focuses on political topics, societal trends, and opinions about current events. If you have an interest in politics and sharing your opinions, this is the site for you.

Each survey is worth a set number of points, and the points will be included in the survey invitation. This allows you to choose the best opportunities and points can accumulate quickly if you are active on the site. One of the neat things about YouGov is that the value of rewards increases as you reach the upper levels, i.e. it takes 55,000 points to earn a $50 reward but just 100,000 to up that to a full $100.

Survey Junkie

Survey Junkie partners with a number of platforms, allowing it to offer one of the largest assortments of surveys on the web. With a single app, survey takers can choose from dozens, and sometimes, hundreds, of survey opportunities, and they can cash out when they reach just $5 in rewards.

The value of surveys varies, with some worth just a few pennies and others worth several dollars or even more. Remember that you will not qualify for every survey, and it may take some time to accumulate enough points to cash out.

I-Say

This next company partners with public research firm Ipsos, making it one of the best and most legitimate on our list. The Ipsos name is well known to businesses and market researchers, and that means I-Say tends to have access to lots of high-quality, and potentially high-paying surveys.

As with other sites you may not qualify for every survey, but it pays to keep trying. Over time there is money to be made here, and you may even qualify for home product tests that pay even more and earn you free stuff along with money.

ClearVoice Surveys

ClearVoice is another popular survey company and another one that offers product test opportunities. If you want to get in on the next new grocery item or skin care miracle, you might be able to try it out before (almost) anyone else.

If you do qualify for an in-home product test you will need to complete a number of surveys and provide your honest opinions. In the meantime, you can continue to respond to survey invitations, and once you hit the $10 threshold you will be able to cash in. ClearVoice offers several payout options, including PayPal transfers, Amazon gift cards, and more, and surveys range from as little as a quarter to as much as $5 or $20 each.

Surveys on the Go

Surveys on the Go is an interesting app, one that provides surveys based on your location as well as more traditional questionnaires. If you are walking into a Target store you might hear your phone ping, and when you check you may find a Target-centric survey waiting for you.

It can be hard to qualify for specific surveys, and the qualification questionnaires can be a bit lengthy, but even if you do not qualify you will get a small reward, and over time those earnings can really add up. If you do qualify for a survey you could earn several dollars for each one, and even more for things like targeted shopping trips and product trials.

Toluna Influencers

The last entry on the list is Toluna Influencers, and this one comes with a few caveats. The most significant is that accumulated points will expire in 12 months, so it is best to cash out your earnings as you get them.

One of the best things about Toluna is that survey takers can pick and choose based on their interests. You can find surveys from dog food companies and the like if you are a pet owner. Ski enthusiasts can look for surveys built around their love of downhill or cross-country. This targeting makes it easier to qualify, and easier to earn some extra cash.

Taking surveys can be a great way to make money from home, especially if you sign up with multiple sites and keep a close watch on your inbox. You may not make a million dollars, but you can earn money and gift cards – not a bad use of your extra time.
